Year 22 No 4 – Dec 98 / Jan 99
At our September meeting in Crathes Hall we had a big attendance of players. We had 13 accordion players, 2 fiddle players and 3 pianists, while the number of listeners increases every month which is most encouraging for us.
October – our Summer season was very good and as Winter approaches the enthusiasm never wanes. We now have 2 singers, a lady and a gentlemen, who entertain us with all the lively Scottish songs and our audience certainly show their appreciation.
November – it is now one year since Scottish Accordion Music started. We decided to give our very loyal supporters a free night and a hot meal, as a token of our appreciation of their support, at the end of our first very successful year.
Our financial Report was read to everyone and it was a very satisfactory one. We had an excellent turnout of players and I feel they should be mentioned on this auspicious occasion. On accordion Bill Cooper, Charles Kydd, Gus Gove, Sandy Mortimer, Fred Harrott, Alistair Forbes, Jock Cummings, Keith Donald, Freda Conn, Elizabeth Sudder, Arthur Wood, Charles Sutherland and Jack Lawson.
On fiddle Denis Davidson. On keyboard Jim Smith and on trumpet Donald McGregor.
It was an exceedingly happy night and a most appreciative audience who were unwilling to let us draw it to a close. Roll on December meeting – we can hardly wait!
