Ian William KIRKPATRICK
FUNERAL NOTICE
(Craigs Road, Dumfries) Very peacefully, with Janette, Karen and Gary by his side, Ian passed away on Thursday 14th April after a long illness endured with his usual fortitude and humour. He was a devoted and treasured husband, an adored father and very special and proud papa, who will be missed more than words can say. Not only was Ian well respected in the Fire Service, where in his own words, he spent 30 wonderful years, but also in the world of Scottish music and Scottish country dance. His family has been comforted by the support given by friends and by the many tributes being paid to Ian. Sincere thanks to all professionals who have supported him throughout his journey. At his request, his funeral service should be very private.
Editor note
Ian was not just a fine fiddler but also an excellent exponent of the Shand Morino, an unusual combination. He was a fanatical enthusiast of the great Ian Powrie SDB.
