Year 7 No 3 - November 1983
The first meeting of the new season of the Thornhill and District A&F Club was held in the George Hotel, Thornhill on 11th October.
Mr Ronnie Moffat extended a warm welcome to all present and paid tribute to the late Jock Patterson who had died during the summer. Mr Patterson was a founder member and Secretary of the Club. He then introduced Mr Henry Gibson, compere for the evening.
The guest artiste was Tommy Ford from Stirling who delighted the audience with the skill and versatility of his performance. He was ably supported by James Clark on keyboard and Stevie Beattie on drums.
Local artistes were – accordionists Willie Wilson, Hazel Cuthbertson, Ronnie Moffat, Jimmy Edwards, Bob Williamson, John Douglas, Margaret Patterson and Ian Rankin. Moothie players Hugh Hanlon, Bert Stewart and Davie Wright. Drummers Davie Wright and Willie Hotson.
