Year 1 No 6 - March 1978
We had our first meeting of the year on the 11th January, when the Willie Simpson Trio were guests. A very successful meeting despite the inclement weather.
Our second meeting was on 8th February, when the fabulous Currie Brothers were our guests. As well as a good number of players there was an attendance of 150.
Players who took part were P. Crighton, J. Forbes, John Huband, Pat Gammie, Gary Mair, Patricia Findlay, Larry Findlay, Adam Crighton, Jimmy Adams, Pauline Petrie, Margaret McLennan, George Carmichael and Mac Kinnear – all on accordions.
Jim Rennie and Peem Edwards on fiddle.
Grant Rennie and Kevin Balfour on drums.
Everybody present was knocked out by the brilliant performance given by the young Currie Brothers. These three brothers surely have a fantastic future.
Future guests are –
March – Ian Holmes
April – Gordon Forbes SDB
May – Bobby MacLeod
The Committee of the Wellbank Club wish all other member Clubs every success in the future.
