Terry Connor
Obituary
Well known Scottish fiddler, Terry Connor, died in hospital after a long illness aged 78. He is survived by his wife Ann and sons Peter and Brian.
From the age of 7 years, music was a large part of his life and he won many medals and diplomas for playing the fiddle. His musical tastes embraced jazz and the classics as well as Scottish music.
Over the years he played and toured with several Broadcasting Bands including the Jack Forsyth SDB, the Betty Anderson Quartette, the Gie Gordons SDB and Bobby Crowe and his Band. In latter years he gigged with various local bands. He played at Balmoral for the Royal Family on many occasions and in Edinburgh for the Queen’s Jubilee. He had a wide range of interests and had a magnificent collection of hundreds of reproduction models of cars, vans and lorries.
He was a regular member of the music ministry of his local church and a keen supporter of Dundee United F.C.
A lovely man with a gentle smile, which expressed so much about him – open, friendly and never saying an unkind word about anyone.
