Year 1 No 3 - December 1977
The Alnwick Club hold their meetings on the second Wednesday of the month. We meet in the Nags Head. At the first meeting the guest artiste was Tommy Pringle from Selkirk and with the backing of local players we had a great night. The second night we had Alan Doig’s SDB, all the way from Crieff and as far as we were concerned, it was worth the journey. On the third meeting the guest artiste was Marian Wilson from Whitcome.
On 9th December we had a concert and the cast was made up of all the local artistes. I will have more to report on our Club now that I am settled in my new address.

Year 1 No 5 - February 1978
At the January meeting of Alnwick A&F Club we had as guest artiste Archie Duncan from Glasgow who played some great music on his accordion much to the delight and satisfaction of the audience.
The evening started off with Neil Evans, accordion, and Ray Boston on drums. They were followed by the ever popular Bill Atkinson on the mouth organ. Bill had the complete attention of the audience. Next was Tommy Edmundson, accordion, and Ray backing on the drums. Other players on the go were John Thompson, accordion, and Jim McKinlay on guitar, Archie Telfer, accordion, and Norman Steel on fiddle and finally Peter North, guitar/ folk singer. MC for the night was Ray Boston and the important post of doorman was undertaken by John Carson.

At the March meeting the Nags Head was jam packed for the guest artistes from Callander. They were the Tommy Walker Trio.
Robin Cowan on accordion started the night off and was followed by Eric Cummings, also on accordion. Then there was Bill Atkinson who was on top form with his ‘moothie.’ He soon had the feet tapping with some great selections. He was followed by those two great players, John Thompson, accordion, and Jim McKinlay, guitar. Others taking part were Archie Telfer, accordion, and Norman Steel on fiddle. Our genial compere for the night was Alex Davidson.
Our thanks also to those two indispensables, doorman John Carmen and Mrs Carmen who manages the raffle spot in such an efficient manner.
The April Club night was also a terrific success, the guest artistes this time being those famous young Currie Brothers. They were ably supported by our own players who turn up night after night and we are grateful to them. There was John Thompson, accordion, with Neil Telfer on drums, Robert Whitehead, accordion, with his brother on piano, Robert Willison on drums with Neil Evans on accordion, Archie Telfer, accordion, Jim Purves on fiddle as was Norman Steel. Jim McKinlay was back with his guitar. We had Peter North on his guitar with Barbara Gray’s swinging singing. Finally more songs from John Gray. Thanks to everyone who help to make our Club nights such a success.
