The last meeting of the season saw a good turnout of audience and musicians to enjoy guest artistes, The Scott Gordon Trio, with Scott on accordion, Ian Muir on keyboard and Iain ‘Stretch’ McFadyen on drums.
They gave us a couple of excellent sessions with a great variety of music.
Supporting players were, on accordion, Linda Riddet, Peter Jardine, Ian Gracie, Mary Young, Ann Wall, Charlie Todd, Ian Cruickshanks, Charlie Thomson, Jim Paterson, Bob Fortune, Alan Gardiner, Pauline Bradley and Keith Dickson.

September - the opening meeting of our 21st Anniversary Season had special guests Fraser and Kevin McGlynn. Having traveled 132 miles and arrived a little late, they played all the second half, entertaining us with some good tunes and good ‘crack’.
Supporting players were, on accordion Peter Jardine, Bob Fortune, Charlie Todd, Lynn Aitchison, Ian Graham, Keith Dickson, Alan Gardiner, John Weaks and John Anderson.
On keyboard Dorothy Lawson and George Walker.
On fiddle Gilbert Logan, Emma Rayworth and Amy Geddes, who is Musician in Residence with Clydesdale District Arts Council.
Our drummers were Bob Henderson, David Fielding and John Anderson.
Next month our 21st Anniversary celebrations are on 8th October with Nicol McLaren and the Glencraig SDB. Everyone is welcome to come along and help us celebrate.

October - the Municipal Hall was bursting at the seams as a capacity audience of 20 musicians helped celebrate our 21st Anniversary.
The Glencraig SDB were guest artistes and opened the proceedings with a lively first spot. Leader, Nicol McLaren, having fond memories of playing at the opening Club night as a ‘wee boy’. The other band members were Iain Cathcart on second accordion, Gordon Howe on fiddle, Maureen Rutherford on keyboard and Bill Buchan on drums.
During the interval the birthday cake was cut by Evelyn MacArthur, assisted by daughter Fiona and son, Gordon, who gave a short speech and proposed a toast wishing the Club continued success.
Evelyn was then presented with a Caithness Glass Bowl to commemorate the occasion. She, in turn, presented a bowl to Club President John Anderson, for 21 years’ service and Vice-President Tom Hope, for 10 years.

Our good friend Jim Johnstone and his SDB were our guests at our December club. Jim played on our opening night 21 years ago and has been a popular guest many times since then. January The first Club of 1996 got off to a swing start with the Charlie Kirkpatrick Trio as guest artistes. They entertained us with some great music and amusing stories.
With Charlie, were Derek Hamilton on keyboard and Bill Buchan on drums.
Supporting players were, on accordion, Peter Jardine, Jim Brodie, Jim Divers, Agnes Hope, Bob fortune, Tom Porteous, Morag Robertson, Katie Kay, Ian Graham, John Weaks, John Laidlaw and Alan Gardiner.

Our March meeting had the Jennifer Forrest SDB as guest artistes. This very popular young dance band played two great sessions to a full house. With Jennifer were Neil MacEachern on 2nd accordion, Duncan Burns on drums and Brian Cruickshanks on bass guitar.
Supporting players were Charlie Thomson, Peter Jardine, Bob Wight, Jean McConnachie, Agnes Hope, Mary Young, Bob Fortune, Fiona Paul, Ian Gracie, Fiona cuthbertson, Iam Graham, Peter Wood, Alan Gardiner, Calum Wilson and Charlie Todd all on accordion.

Unfortunately due to the closure of the hall the April meeting has had to be cancelled, therefore this was the last Club night of a very successful season.
