Fleming, Ron (1932 – date)
Born in Glasgow, Ron moved to Kintyre at the age of seven on the death of his father. He was strongly influenced by Malcolm G. McCallum, music teacher, church organist, choirmaster and conductor of the foremost choir of the time, the Campbeltown Gaelic Choir. His piping career began quite by chance when the local A.T.C. Squadron, of which he was a member, decided to form a pipe band and he volunteered to give it a go. His tutor in the early years was P/M Willie Wilson. He currently resides in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia with his wife Margaret.
